A short history of the Adelaide Observatory

I found this fascinating link tonight while browsing the SA BOM weather
site.....a little link on the side, I'm so glad I found it.
http://www.bom.gov.au/sa/inside/hist...ervatory.shtml

A real insight into the initial setup, running and evolution of Adelaide
Observatory and , in particular, the purpose of the Government Astronomer
of the day and roles he had to perform.
I had no idea some of this West Terrace land was where it was originally sited.
