Thanks for the comments. I use Registax (5 or 6 depending what I want to achieve) and Photoshop. I have found that the RGB alignment estimate provided by Registax is better than I can do by my own estimation in Photoshop, and have been using that for quite a while now. It probably doesn't help that I shoot at things so low in the sky either.
They look good Rob : ). Can I send you my stacked tif (no wavelets etc)? I'd be interested in seeing what you can do with it.
Mike, I did try moving the Photoshop channels but found that Registax does a better job than me. I notice that with the settings I use in camera, the blue channel is quite pronounced and lends an overall haze to the image which makes it hard to appear aligned properly.
