M83 data added

Grabbed another hour and 10 minutes of moon washed data to add to what I captured the night before.
It's made a big difference I think.
Now a total of 2hrs and 40min.

Now you're talking JJ! You're making good progress there! It's all about how much data you get - you can never have too much. Colours look good and detail not bad!

The sky's a bit too black though - it's likely you've got some faint data there waiting to be teased out.

Cheers, Marcus

I agree with Marcus - I think you are too soft on it! Hit with some more stretching! But you can now really see the spiral arms! great image

Looking better JJJ. Maybe some selective sharpening too would give the image that punch it needs.

I pushed the curves a bit more this time, and applied some selective sharpening.

A very nice M83 photo.

I really like the colours, especially in the original shot.

Very nice JJ. Looking very good. The sharpening is good but a bit got into the faint arms and increased noise. Oh, where does processing end eh? Really a minor point but because the image is looking pretty schmick its just that little final touch.

Blur tool rubbed on the little bit of colour noise would handle it. Or an inverted mask used with the selective sharpening or don't rub on the faint arms when using selective sharpening masks. Sharpening brings out noise in dim areas and is best restrained only to bright areas with strong signal.

Greg.
