The Lagoon

What an awesome night it was last night! And it's going to be like this for another 4 days. I'm going to be totally wiped out by the end of this.

My second target for the evening was m8.
27x5min @ ISO400
ED80, Canon 20d modded blah blah blah
soooo tired
DSS, CS3 and Paint Shop Pro. I should use PSP more often, it's good to have different ways to tweak the image.

Let me know what's wrong with it and I'll fix it up.

need sleep

Well, Marc will love it

It's actually a pretty good image lovely detail and nice looking stars, the wide field version looks good..for me it is a little red/magenta though, so I'd recon a tweek of levels and curves in PS will help here maybe some more green and blue. Look for some faint blue on the outskirts of the main nebula, if you can see this you are doing well

By God, Jeanette, you have come such a long way with your imaging over the last couple of years!

Great stuff JJ !!
This turned out really well indeed.

I go along with what Mike has pointed out. The tell tale is that there is a group of blue stars to the centre of the neb, a few single blue stars in and around the nebula.... that send out a little reflection in their general area .. perhaps have a peek in your planetarium.. this will give you a better idea of the stars spectra.

Other than that GREAT!!!
This is almost spot on colour wise.

Yes know what you mean about having a few clear nights in a row..... I end up looking like a raccoon... I say to the folks at work... I have observatory eyes

Keep up the good work

Rich

Looks pretty good to me JJ. Nice bit of sky with so much happening and so many targets to wile away the hours on.

Good to see you got a good night.
