Old Eyeballs and Exit Pupil

Not sure if this topic exactly fits here, but..........

I have always been interested in discussion on eyepiece exit pupil, given my almost 65 years age. So I took advantage at a recent eye test, when my pupils were fully dilated under influence of 'the drops'. (Apparently the drops cause the relevant muscle or whatever to fully relax.)

On request, the optician measured my pupil diameter, which came to 8.0mm each side. Seems a bit large for age, but explains my pretty good night vision and grouse outcomes at the eyepiece?

I am not 100% sure - but you may not get such a full dilation at home without pharmaceutical assistance...
