Some Sun pics from today - Sunday!

Hi all

I was able to image for a little while before my house hold jobs took over. The Sun is quite impressive of late so there is always an opportunity if the clouds stay away.

I used the second filter on my Lunt60/Ha scope for image one - it really highlighted the prominences while maintaining details on the disc - it is a harder way to image as less light gets to the camera chip so exposure lengths are longer / slower frame rate / but contrasts are greater. I think it came out OK so I will use it more often.

Image two is of the same area utilising the single stacked option (my normal routine)

Image 3 is of a smudgy filament that is part of one over 700,000km long!

Some great shots once again Matt. The side-by-side positive/negative presentation really adds to these already fascinating portraits of our solar powerhouse.

It was nice to have some clear skies today for a change, wasn’t it!

Cheers

Dennis

Lovely work as usual.
The sun appeared a bit quiet late Saturday arvo, or the seeing was so poor I missed the action

Matt you've got to go with double stack when time permits that really captures a nice picture. The filament and prominence detail together makes for a great view.

Very nice work, as usual Matt and most definitely agree with Derek regarding just how effective the double stack is, looks just great.

Well done.
Regards
Trevor

Thanks folks - I should have persisted with the double stacking after my initial failures! Looking forward to my next session!
