EQ Mount possible on a truss dob?

Hi,

This might sound like a silly question but is it possible to put an EQ mount on a truss dobsonian (say 12inch)?
Has it been done before ? What fo people do if they want to get into astrophotography with a truss/dob - or do they upgrade scopes ?

Hi,

Don't think so..I may be wrong but i can see heaps of problems there. The truss sysem would,t be round to allow the rings to mount it to the eq..But a normal newtonian (not truss type) can go onto an eq..For a 12" you would need an eq6..I changed my 8" dob to an eq mount recently and have had no poblems..There are dob drivers and wedges and things ...although someone who has one of these would have to comment, ive never even seen one..

of course it's possible, but then it's not a Dob no more! Mark Hodson (??) who used to post a lot but seems to have disappeared had a truss Newt on an EQ mount.
