hi gel,
we have a few north shore guys here and i am sure they'll be along sometime... I used to live on the north shore (artarmon) but have moved to campbelltown. I use a 8" GSO Dob which i mount equatorially when i get a chance....

why do you want to know?

I work in Chatswood and live in Roseville...I guess that qualifies for the North Shore...

I've got an 8 inch Bintel (GSO) Dobsonian reflector and a 12.5 inch Discovery Truss Dobsonian reflector...and few other odds and ends...
