Apple: Sale Day

Apple are having a one day sale today, Friday 26 November

http://store.apple.com/au?afid=p219%...le-HOLIDAYFY11

Probably linked to Thursday 25, which is today in the US, being Thanksgiving?

They are not reducing the prices by all that much, but it is better than no reduction?

Amazon the same - must happen across the USA - on the day after Thanksgiving?

Amazon will sell their superceded e-book reader (Kindle II, 6" screen version) for $89!

Are the apple distributors (eg: JB Hi-Fi) also having the sale, or is it only if you buy from Apple direct?

Not sure. As I said, it's not much of a sale.

Dick Smith has the iPad WI-Fi 64GB for AU$873 while the Apple Store, on sale, has the same for AU$998 (save AU$51 off the normal price and still pay more than at Dick Smith)

Interesting. My son has to get a new iPod Touch (his previous one was stolen) and literally he was going to buy it today from JB Hi-Fi.

But if Apple are having the sale (it's $40 off!) it might be worth him waiting and buying it online. But of course he doesn't want to wait!

I'll have to ring JB and find out how much they're selling it for.

JB have it for $358, $20 more than the apple sale price.

Their iPod Nano's are only $3 more than the apple sale price.

"Black Friday" is the Friday after thanksgiving.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Friday_(shopping)
Traditional day for Apple giving a discount (which they rarely, if ever, do).
Apple have been doing this in the US for ages.
I think this year it is synced globally.

You can buy online (with free shipping), or go in to a retail store, but today only. Only downside for a retail store is they may not have what you want in stock.
