New barlow. Bad weather

Hi all!
Today is an exciting day for me. I've bought my first barlow lens!
It wasn't easy to get it, but wasn't very difficult neither. I took a bus, and after a journey of twenty minutes I arrived at the place where it's sold. It's a Barlow 2x acromatic, that of course can not be compared with the barlow that came with my scope (it doesn't even deserve that name).
What's really interesting is that we've had here in Argentina five excellent nights (consecutives) for observation, but when I was coming back from the site, black clouds appeared in the sky and when I was getting in the house it started to rain. Apparently this weather will last at least three days more so I won't be able to use the barlow... bad luck lol
Well, as it's say: "Patience is a virtue".

Cheers, Luis

Luis,

good luck with the barlow!

Just remember the first rule of astronomy - whenever you buy new equipment it always clouds over!!

cheers

Lol! I think it should be considered another "law of nature". It never fails and it can be applied to the whole universe (except of course those planets with no atmosphere - I wish I lived there)

Thanks for your replies, Niko and Jen I'm still waiting for good skies...

Cheers, Luis.

Do what most of us do (admit it, I'm sure I'm not the only one ), put new purchase in the area you are most likely going to be around in. Look at it lots, pick it up and hold it for a while. Place it back down. Walk away and repeat said process over and over and over again until the weather clears. Sometimes desperation even drives us to pretend to be using it .
