Another Jupiter attempt

Hi

This was taken from the backyard last night around 8.30pm. A stack of 2200 frames out of 3000 in reasonable seeing using a C11 and DFK colour camera. Captured, stacked and processed on my trusty netbook.

Very nice detail there, colour rich as well, we done.

May not need to stack stack so many, I generally only stack 500 of the best which seems to be enough. Also limit the amount of frames to look at based on the frame rate. 30FPS 3000 frames are good whereas 10fps max would be 2000 frames. Lower than that will see a limit on the clarity. This is the reason even though my camera can resolve up to 2820 x 1280 the best resolution so far is 800 x 600. Still trying for a higher resolution but need a really clear day.

Nice one John,

A 2x or bigger barlow would improve the image scale, you certainly have enough details there and focus is excellent.

Keep em coming.

Cheers

Chris

Looking good John, more image scale would be nice and it might be an idea to rotate your camera to get the equatorial banding aligned closer to the long axis of your chip.

Well done
Regards
Trevor

Thanks everyone
Malcom, I took your advice and only stacked 500 out of the 3000 taken (seeing was reasonably good). I think the smaller number of frames looks better. What do you think?
