Malcolm,
1st shot: I can see what you're trying to achieve, but, I think due to movement of either kitty, or yourself, the focus has not rendered very sharply on the eye closest to camera. An aperture setting that would allow the eye and the nose in focus would have worked better as they're the two regions my eye gets drawn to. Another thing that would have worked in your favour would be a much more uniform background that's blurred to oblivion due to shallow depth of field.
2nd shot: Needs to be brightened up with a smidgen of contrast. These types of shots are difficult due to not being able to get all parts of the plant in crisp focus. The green bud is really distracting. Also, the way the petal gets cut off from the right of frame is distracting, too. If the flower was moved in towards the centre a touch more, it would have worked.
3rd shot: awkward composition; would have worked a lot better had the entirety of the Holden logo been in frame.
Hopefully this has come across as constructive and not condescending/patronising as that wasn't the intention.
