AP Mach1GTO mounts for sale

A notification came out on the AP yahoo group, thought some on here might be interetsed? The Astrophysics medium size mount, the Mach1GTO, is currently available without a waiting list if anyone is interested? Could have it in March

About 2 years ago after procrastinating for months I took the plunge and went on the waiting list for a Mach1 GTO. After 15 months it finally arrived at about 70 cents to the US$. If only I had been my usual self and procrastinated longer I could have had it straight away and at 90 cents

Anyway I don't regret it. It is a superb piece of kit. Very solid and extremely well built but quite portable at the same time. You can't hang 50kg of gear off it but that is not a concern for me. The hand control is easy to use and it has a great daytime set up routine to get you very close to polar aligned. The tracking and slewing have performed faultlessly. Astrophysics were great to deal with and I have got a few extra bits and pieces since. Also answered some questions promptly. The only problem is I rarely see a clear sky.

Neale.

I know some feel AP has an exagerrated following but my experience with them and their gear as they are at the absolute pinnacle of gear manufacturing. There is simply nothing better.

Roland is one of those people who knows everything about his field and understands it deeply with correct basics and true data plus 30 years of practical experience.

The main problem of course is availability of the gear.

Greg.
