Question DS III focusing problems

I have a LXS200GPS, 12' Meade telescope. I have a terrible time getting the Imager to focus. I have no problem with a regular eyepiece, but not on the computer screen. Does anybody have any good tips as to how I can get the Imager to work better?
Thank you very much!!

Hi,

Have you tried lengthening your exposure slightly - eg. 10sec from 1sec for example?

The magic eye is usually pretty good.

Cheers

I use a Bahtinov focusing mask on my LX200GPS with a DSI Pro II and it works a treat. Prior to that, I made a Hartmann mask - but I much prefer the Bahtinov.

Point your telescope at a fairly bright star, and set your electric focusser to the centre of its travel. Adjust your focus using a mask until it's as good as you can get it manually. Lock your mirror in place. From that point, use the electric focusser to fine tune your focus until it's perfect.

How far out of focus are you?

Dean
