Tri Nations 2009

Well it looks like the AB's have drawn first blood. Didn't get to see the
match myself as I was entertaining fellow astronomers on the night. But
I did hear the Wallabies gave them a bit of stick for a while there until
the AB's slipped into gear. Still the AB's didn't get the bonus point.
Should be an interesting tornament, Robbie Deans seems to have been
good for the Wallabies.

Go the All Blacks!

Cheers,CS

But you could be onto something, it's about time for a change it's only
been 7-8 yrs since we lost it .... I think

We dont get all the matches on free to air. But since moving further
bush in the last couple of weeks Austar is looking good.

Wallabies or Springboks this year.

NZ are playing very poorly so far. Not even Dan Carter will save them.

Yup all moved in. Still a heap of unpacking to do. The only thing I miss
about Coombell is the fire place brrrrr. Still we have one of those old
wood fire stove/ovens in the kitchen which apparently still works. Might
even try cooking off it. with access to cheap or free wood it might cut
the power bill down.

Cheers, hope to see you out here soon

I'd say 90% of people would agree WE should have beaten them in the first test but squandered our opportunities. Don't forget wallabies have been leading the AB's for 60mins of last 3 tests before somehow blowing the finish. Seems the wallabies have the greatest room for improvement amongst all the teams.

They haven't just lost 1 game. Beaten by France in first test, average at best against Italy and only beat the Wallabies through poor discipline and lack of finishing on our behalf. Good luck with Henry at the helm.

Well the AB's went down again to the Box, 31 to 19 I hope they can
pick up their game. I hope the Wallabies give them a flogging
next week. No free to air broadcast so didn't get to see the match. But
Austar will be installed shortly so wont miss anymore

Cheers,CS

Australia went down to the box 29 to 17 just a slight drumming.... jeez
and I was hoping you guys could stop the box... if you can just win one
against the box. And the AB's win all the remaining matches. The AB's
could still take it out.

You've pointed out your own problem. It's all very well to lead for 60mins
even if only marginally. The game goes for 80mins, the wallabies cant
keep match fittness for 80mins. And that is a big part of the game and
why they go pear shaped near the end.

We have a good All Black team, but not a great All Black team at
present. Wasn't a convincing win by France in the first test. But then
again they are the top european side at present. Yeah I suppose a 27
to 6 against Italy was pretty average for the AB's... mind you the
Wallabies would be screaming to the press that it was an absolute
hidding with those figures

Anyways we ain't out of the running just yet

Cheers,CS

That is a problem. Last night seemed to go someway when we outscored and seemed to control the 2nd half a lot better than the Boks.

Also you could count on one hand the number of times the AB's have lost to Italy by less than 50 so statement still stands, that is a terrible score.

Another poor performance by the wallabies and good win by the boks. They may not be great to watch but it's effective. Still tough to lose after scoring 2 tries to 1 and still going down by 12 due to a complete lack of discipline. Kudos to them though for not giving us 1 penalty within kicking range in return. In a complete turnaround from Eden Park this time our scrum was strong and completely out muscled them in second half but the lineout losses meant we turned over far too much ball in first 40.

Bring on Sydney
