Question New Focuser for 6in Refractor

Hi Guys,

I have recently purchased a Celestron 150mm (6 inch) Achromat F8 refractor and am now looking to pimp my ride.

My first step is to purchase a reasonably priced dual speed focuser cos my existing "Rail" style focuser leaves a lot to be desired.

Therefore I need your help in resolving the following questions :

1) How do I determine what size/ type of focuser I need?
2) What is a reasonably priced focuser?

I need to get this upgrade past the Home Ministry so "recommendations for the common man" would be greatly appreciated.

What are your thoughts

Its the 96mm OD diameter one ( not the 112mm OD) A GSO with 10:1 is $199 . Bintel stock them too. I own two of these scopes and just measured to make sure.

Thanks for the reply guys.

So its either the 96mm or the 112mm focuser for me. I will measure mine to be double sure.

As for the manufacturer I have the following questions:
- By selecting GSO (which seems to be the cheapest) am I losing anything in terms of performance?
- Is the Bintel one just a re-badged unit from another manufacturer? In short, is it better or worse than the GSO unit.

I am linking the pricing of the GSO/ Bintel offerings. Very affordable.

David,

Their website is a bit "basic" so which one of the three listed would I be after?

Also are their any benefits in going with these guys in terms of quality or performance?
