Seymour Solar Filter arrived yesterday!

I forgot to mention it! Itching to give it a whirl on the weekend, as well as all the other new gear that I've bought over the past month.

Said filter looks well made, and was well packed and delivered very fast. I bought it direct from Seymour solar's EBay website. Excellent service and support I must say.

How long did it take to get to you Dave? I tried to order one through one of the stores here in Brissie in early September and finally gave up yesterday.

York Optical are...I better not say. They have none in stock. When I went into the store a few weeks ago I was told that they won't place an order unless they have a minimum of $500...given that they retail for $120, their wholesale price is probably $60-80. That would mean that they'd need at least 8 or 9 people ordering these filters in total before they'd place an order. That could take months! In the end, I decided to buy directly from Seymor Solar via their EBay shop. A bit more expensive, but I got it. As an aside, Steve @ Seymour Solar told me that York Optical had placed an order for a variety of solar filters. So, York Optical either fulfilled that $500 very quickly, are lying, or, don't know what they're talking about.

Said package arrived very quickly, and was very well packed. The filter looks great as well. I haven't (obviously) used it yet. Will report back later with some images of Sol (weather permitting) - probably on the weekend!
