hi. i am after a meade magellen 1 hand controler. this is to be used on an old meade tripod . has different pin setup then todays. has four pin not 6.

Are you sure it is a Magellan 1. The Magellan 1 is a complete DSC with encoders for a Dobsonian with two sockets 6 and 8 pin.
It sounds like you are looking for a Magellan 11. That is a hand controller similar in looks to the old LX200 classic. and was used to control the Starfinder series.
Some further information. The Starfinder series that came out in 1995-6 had two types of RA drive. The early type had a simple AC tracking motor and as far as I can remember they did not have a variable speed. The later type had a basic goto system and a motor for dec control via tangent arm .If you have the later type (DC Motors) it can be used with the Magellan II. The early type does not work with the Magellan control unit. You will need the DC motors, control panel, handbox and cables etc.
