Using pulseguiding on PHD

ok, so i have EQDIR all setup and running remotely, and now i am looking into pulse guiding through PHD, i have heard this is better, as it doesnt lock the mount and can do both axis at the same time

I am interested in hearing comments from anyone who uses it, do you find it better? does it make a difference to the final image? anything to be aware of?

thanks as ever

It is a matter of conjecture. I went back to ST4 guiding as I believe that to be better. There is no proof either way, some more things to look at and a couple of extra sliders to play with for pulse guiding, however, you can realistically refine your guiding as well with ST4 type guiding too. I'm getting into MaxIm that I bought ages ago and there is heaps of guiding options in there.
It's 6 of one, half dozen of the other.
