Tarantula from SBIG mono & DSLR colour

Hi all

Just a quick mean-stacked combination of an SBIG ST-8 mono file I took last night and an older colour one from my 350D a while back. It's starting to get there, but as always - more data required.

Agree the detail is fantastic, the colour may be a little different, but what the heck, nice work Chris.

I really like the colour (for what my opinion is worth - I'm not an imager).

Nice image scale and resolution.
Feel we're on the verge of another blue spider v's red spider debate though!!!
Top stuff

Omaroo,
Love the image, what are you using to stack the different data?

I agree on the colour. Different, but better IMHO.

LOL! Thanks everyone

Yes, colour is always going to be a contentious subject on this one. My unmodified DSLR naturally picks up this aqua green colour, not red. Images that I googled were split fairly evenly between red/orange/warm colour to cool greens.

I can't wait until I get a proper filter set for the SBIG and try it on this object with a fresh perspective - and see what happens.

Frank - I just use Photoshop CS3 - and stack into a smart object. If you are only stacking a small number of files (2 to 5 or so) the stack script will align, rotate and position differently sized images pretty well.
