Mira

The variable star Mira (omicron ceti) is conspicuous now. The star has brightened from mag 9.7 three months ago to mag 3.6.
It has a period of about 11 months and transits at about 10pm DST.

This list gives dates for some variable star maxima. R Aql and R Aqr have mag 6 max in Dec.

These mira type stars have maxima that are usually brighter than mag 5.
