That would be friggin' right. Took them long enough. I got sick of waiting and uninstalled 3.0.1 a couple of days ago.

There was a 3.0.2 ??
I never got it even with auto-update activated and a couple of manual 'check for updates'.
3.0.1 crashed on me around 5 times a session, no warning, just gone. Decided to go back to 2.0.15 which for me was very very stable... buggered if I could find it, Mozilla only had 2.0.16 available, which was released after I had upgraded(downgraded?!) to 3.0.1.... and guess what?, 2.0.16 has the same crash problem 3.0.1 did...grrrrrrr

Not happy.

EDIT: Hahaha, if it wasn't so funny I would cry.
3.0.2 was released on 23rd Sept, the day I uninstalled 3.0.1!!
That should learn me for trying an early major revision, but then, had I never gone with 3.0.1 and stuck with 2.0.15, it would have auto-updated to 2.0.16 and I'd have had the same issues anyway.

Well...lots especially the add-ons you can use to automate tasks and indeed make browsing faster (Webpage loading faster).
Here's a screen shot of my add-ons.

http://img204.imageshack.us/my.php?image=addonsdm7.jpg

Adblock Plus gets rid of adds...but use it wisely be fair to web site owners (such as IIS) and view their ads.
Download statusbar is a download manager that uses anti virus plug-ins to auto scan downloads.
Australian English dictionary...self explanatory..check for Australian English spelling when typing. You can add many different dictionaries.
Flash block replaces internet "falsh" applications with a "clicklable box"...so you can view the "flash application" if you want.
Torrentbar...bittorrent search engine.....errrr if your into that.
Netusage item shows my current ADSL internet usage sp I don't exceed my plan.

There are lots more addons that make the internet do things your way!:

It's like driving the same car for years...it does the job and it feels good ......why do you need something else?

Until you buy a new car..... then you realise how bad the old one was.

That's the comparison between IE and Firefox...

Basically the chances of getting trojans/spyware are reduced by a couple of orders of magnitude. Believe me, since I've hidden IE and put Firefox in its place on both my parents' and brother's computers ... I hardly get called up anymore to fix popups, spyware and other stuff that shouldn't be going on

That's not even talking about the great features the browser has, that 'wasyoungonce' covered well. It's amazing when you find out what you've been missing out on

But in the end, if you're definitely not plagued by spyware/viruses and you don't do much online other than light browsing, then it might not be that interesting.

I knew firefox was the one for me as soon as I saw how much faster IIS loads in it compared to IE.

IE appears to wait until all images and associated rubbish is downloaded before displaying anything.

Chrome is even faster than Firefox, and uses less memory.

But, it's still beta and has some problems. I'm sure it'll get even better though.

Yep, been keeping my eye on Chrome... still a little worried what Google may have burried in it though... and what information it's sending 'home'.

From Wikipedia:
Quote:
Google Chrome will regularly transmit usage statistics, including keystrokes, and identifies each user with a unique ID that is issued when the browser is installed.[54][55] However, it is possible to prevent any personal data or record of browsing habits from being transmitted to Google by deactivating features such as "Google Suggest". Unofficial builds, such as SRWare Iron, seek to remove these features from the browser altogether.[56]

Oh, and for those asking about Firefox vs IE:

Hehe, some good scores there by IE

Cheers, have found a copy 2.0.15 but will give 3.0.3 a soak test first.
Thanks also for the link to the forum, have visited there a number of times and decided that there are enough people reporting the same problems that I won't bother 'echoing'.
FF used to send the error reports back to Mozilla, doesn't appear to do that anymore. Can't remember the last version that did it, maybe 1.5?
