36 hour old moon

Just as I got home from work tonight there was a fantastic view of the crescent moon. I just had time to grab the camera, put it on the tripod and snap off a couple of shots. This was the best one of the two.

It is just a 1 second exposure with a little gamma correction to brighten it a little. Hence it is a little grainy. I wish I had more time to experiment with the exposure but my wife was dishing out the dinner and didn't appreciate me disappearing out the front with the camera the minute I arrived home. She would have much preferred me to wait until after dinner.

The first image is the full frame (didn't have time to turn the date off ). The second is a crop of the first to get rid of the date.

Hi Middy, love the shot. Actually the graininess adds a real "mood" to the picture... if you'd told me you did it on purpose I would have believed you!

cheers,

Rob

Hi Andrew

Thanks for that! We saw the same on our way back from the gym last night, but by the time we got in and grabbed the camera, the clouds had obscured the Moon.

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Andrew
You've done well. You can give yourself another challenge on 2nd Aug. The moon will be even younger at about 29 hours if I am not wrong.
