Good place to sell possessions en masse

Hi folks,

I am working to sell off all my (few) possessions here before I move back home to the U.S.

I have ~2k worth of misc things - all categories - and I was looking for a trash-n-treasure type market where I could rent a table/stall for a day and try to sell it all.

I found the following markets on a Google search:

Dandenong Trash and Treasure Market
El Dorado’s King’s and Beggars Flea Market , Laverton North
Rubble and Riches Market, Laverton

Any advice on this? Other markets? Which is most likely to have the right availability/customer draw?

Thanks!

Scott

What about a garage sale! Would be far less hassles.

Good thought, but I live in a condo building with some fairly restrictive policies on activities done on premises. And despite my looking around the neighborhood for a month or so, haven't seen one yet.

But, if anyone is having one in the Sandringham area soon, hey, lemme know...

Cheers

Scott, go to the local newsagent and grab a copy of Fairs and Markets. This is a bi monthly publication which covers Australia wide and importantly gives an outline of content, costs, times etc for each market.

Dont underestimate a garage sale ..I had a trailer loaded for the tip many years ago and the kids cried out "have a garage sale Dad"..I started putting the junk out the front of the house with a price tag... we went to dinner on the proceeds that night and no tip fee. and it was junk stuff that needed fixing like old bikes, chairs etc
Good luck.

There is the Bentleigh trash and treasure every Sunday morning in the railway car park next to the station. This is the closest I know near you. I have been there a couple of times, many years ago now, to get rid of stuff and got rid of most of it in a few short hours. See if there is anything on:

www.shopbentleigh.com.au they might have a contact for you.

Problem is you will need to be able to fit all the stuff in the car to get it there. Garage sales are probably the easiest, we are hoping to have one soon but probably to late for you to bring your stuff along
