Eclipse from Kilcoy

After a cloudy start it was all good from totality onwards.
I had troubles with dew, my camcorder turned itself off, but not before capturing a fair few .avi's. Have to wait for it to dry before I can process anything off it.
These images were taken with my Canon S3 IS.
Low res stuff, but it was fun to take them.
I also had issues with the Canon focusing. It was on manual focus too. I ended up turning off the timer, and that helped a little bit, at times.

I did take heaps more, but really they are just more of the same.
Don't you think the moon took on an uncanny resemblance to Mars for a while there?

My experience (seen 5 total eclipses) it always does, except the one around the time of Pinoturbo (sp?)... and to think we scoffed at the Mars hoax emails

Some nice memories there already Jeanette, lets hope you get more from your camcorder. Would have loved to have had your skies last night.

I got a great "Buzz" from the whole experience.
Pink Floyd in the background and indulging in a little greenery may have contributed to this as well.

An animation would be fun to make. I'll see if I can scounge up enough suitable images.

great pics! i particularly like the 8.44pm pic

there was a blue-ish dot towards the right of the moon.. is it just a star? (the blue and 3D-like quality makes it fun to examine haha)

, I used my wifes camera which is the same as yours to do wideangle shots so I know that it would not have been easy.
Its a pain to have to manually focus every time you turn the camera back on and that button is hard to find in the dark!! and boy having a lcd viewfinder is real tough at night..

Here are two small animations. They need a bit more effort put into them, but here they are just the same.

Felix, yes, they are stars. Who would have thought that you could capture images of stars next to a full moon?
