I have to agree. Tested a lot of different Aussie beers last trip down, but really liked Tooheys Old Black. I like the dark beers. Closest I can come here in the states is New Castle Brown Ale imported from England.

It changes, but I've enjoyed James Squire 'Original Amber Ale' for quite a while

None.
I don't drink.
But back when I used to, my favourite was a '50'.
Half Tooheys New and half Tooheys Old.

Well, now you have
Was a pretty common name for it at the 'locals' I drank at in the early 90s. Perhaps a NSW thing.

Both free and cold are always good choices! Tooheys Old, Guinness & Coopers sparkling are all exceptional drops as well. Lately (the last couple of years) I've been hooked on Bavaria

Home Brew, usually the Coopers Lager is a great summer beer to make and I usually get them to average 5.5% alchohol content.
Great fun and it is quite an art to make a really good beer as opposed to a standard beer, a bit like astrophotography
Cheers
