There are those who pretend they have a handle on deep AP, then there is Rolf Olsen.

This is simply one of the finest efforts I have seen from any astrophotographer in many years. Well done Rolf.

Enjoy!

Thanks Peter,
that's amazing from Rolf Olsen - 321 hours now after adding old data -
that's given the whole world a new look at Centaurus A.

cheers

Like to see him do that in Sydney...321 hours? Be lucky to get 321 minutes. Or 32.1 minutes. Another ''clear night'' tonight that lasted just long enough to set up and make a cup of tea.

This is the most incredible Centaurus A I have ever seen !!!

Peter , thanks for posting

Rolf is definitely in the professional ranks ( not Amateur)
Take a look at his site and photo gallery …….,

https://www.rolfolsenastrophotography.com/

All his images are mind blowing and he has received numerous awards over many years as well

Total dedication , commitment, skill and expertise in Astrophotography

We think capturing 20 or 30 hours on an object is a big deal , it’s only scratching the surface in comparison.

Admittedly he probably has nice dark and consistent clear skies ( Auckland ?? Hmm…. ) otherwise one could not capture the huge volume of absolute quality data and hold down a day job.

Hats off Sir !!

Martin
