Lamont and the Apollo 11 Crew

Hi all,
A Pic from Friday 20/10/23 showing the feature, Lamont (Dia. 106km), named for German astronomer Johann von Lamont (1805-1879).

Also shown are the piddlingly tiny craters acknowledging the Apollo 11 landing in 1969. Armstrong gets a massive 4km blip while Collins and Aldrin get 2 and 3km respectively. I wonder if the IAU could get any smaller landmarks to commemorate the Giant Leap. The actual landing site is just near the "s" in Collins'name.

ZWO ASI 178MM Camera. Celestron 9.25"CPC.

Approx 2000 frames washed through AutoStakkert then 10% stacked and sharpened in Registax.

Very nice, you've also got the landing sites of Apollo 11, Surveyor 5 and Ranger 8 in the FOV.

Thanks for the comments. It’s a busy part of the moon for spacecraft.
