Camping and imaging in Warrumbungul Dark Sky Park

I was wondering whether anyone can recommend sites within or near the Warrumbungul Dark Sky Park that are suitable for astrophotography - specially with an unobstructed northern horizon.

I've recently sold my caravan so I'll be tent-camping instead but the sky access is the important criterion for me. I want to get some time on M33 while I can. It's a faint object and not easy to image at the best of times but I'm determined to give it a go.

Any suggestions welcome.

hi Ken. Yes, I saw them. That's what got me thinking about Coonabarabran. The last time I was in the area was just after those terrible fires a few years ago.

It’s not for camping, but the Coonabarabran airport offers incredible views all the way to the horizon. Very quiet (unless when they’re shooting foxes/rabbits) and no dramas to set up on the side of the road up there
