Vela SN Remnant

Hi all - used the ASIAir Plus sky atlas to find this part of the Vela SN remnant (most probably the brightest part)

Software designated it as 'V145 Valorum' - anyhoo, it's my first go at this after years of seeing others images.

The coma-like edge stars have prompted me to finally get my Gerd Neumann CTU into service to fix that damn ZWO sensor tilt.

Cloudy night last night stopped play, but in combination with Image Inspection on ASTAP I made some progress - from 'moderate' to 'almost none' before clouds moved in.

Askar 400 f5.6
2600MM
HEQ5
Chroma RGB (stars)
Chroma 3nm Ha & Oiii filters (nebulosity)
PI & PS

Approx total 5hrs integration time

Cheers
Doug

Great shot Doug. Tilt looks sorted at this res. I too rely on the software to identify things, mainly Stellarium.

That's a great shot of such an interesting area of space, Doug. Lots of detail and a suitable palette to match.

Cheers,
V
