How did you Spent your Sunday?

Well I spent my Sunday Afternoon sailing on the delightful waters of Melville Bay here in Nhulunbuy NT.
The Attached Photo is of Mundawuy Yunapingu's house (well Known lead singer of Yothu Yindi), as we passed by out into the bay.
What a beautiful location, in the rainforest looking over the blue waters of Melville bay .
We were treated to a delightful sunset & the close coupling of Venus & the Moon as we returned to harbor (no photo as i was too busy sailing !)

Hi Ian

Sure looks pretty...and great fun too!

On a more mundane note, my Sunday saw me finishing off the base for our water tank and ordering materials for the garden - satisfying but not thrilling.

Cheers

Dennis

Great stuff Ian!

My Sunday was spent at the bike park with the kids, and then in the garden chopping down shrubs that were overgrown into trees!

A beaut day, so I went off McBride's Point, fishing.
Southern end of the Whitsundays in the background

Spent a pleasant couple of hours in the evening, looking at the Eta Car. neb., NGC 5128 and 5139......

Relaxing with a cold beer after a lovely astro night, then I watched an
interesting doco called "Root Of All Evil?" on the ABC, looking forward
to the second half next Sunday.

regards,CS

Woke up in the B&B - no traffic sounds, just the sound of birds in the trees.

Relaxing breakfast, wander away, heading for home. Stopped at the You Yangs - a small mountain range between Melbourne and Geelong. First visit. Saw the Big Rock! Well it doesn't rival Uluru, but it was pretty big! Then up to the top picnic ground where I set up the 20x80s and looked towards Melbourne and across the bay. Melbourne city skyline filled the FOV. Ships traversing the bay looked huge.

Trundle off home early, surprising the children with zero housework done in three days! Spend the rest of the day trying to get the place into shape!

On Sunday I was driving back from the wheatbelt with my partner after having spent a night camping out there for astronomy. We camped with a few other ASWA members doing viewing.

Started off the morning with a little solar viewing while my partner hunted down some native fauna with her camera.

Left the camp ground at about 11 and arrived home at about 2:30pm with a bit of a detour in the middle to check out a new location.

Then arrived home, unpacked, started to tackle the image processing of the result from the night & general photography of sat & sun, then went to bed early to recover from the lack of sleep on Saturday night

Very nice day actually, relaxing and slow paced.

Good one Ian.

I spent my day (after packing the girls off horse riding) cruising down to Blackheath with Lyn on the bike to meet a friend of her's from Sydney for lunch. We don't do that very often, it was a nice change of pace.

Spent the weekend at Temora watching the planes at the Aviation Musuem. Amazing to see two Spitfires flying as well as the other planes and the low level entry of the F111. Now that is noisy.

Lovely view of Luna and Venus on the way home

Nothing to exciting, took an old lounge suite to the recycling tip which was promptly snapped up by council workers there who put it under their carport where the sit and have a few beers after work.
Then set up the scope in clear skies to cool for the evening, webt in and had a beer came back out and packed up the scope under thick cloud which snuck up in the space of about 40 minutes.

So I watched Robin Hood instead

Cheers

Erick, Matthew Flinders enjoyed that very same view, less passing ships and the distant sprawl on the eastern shores of Port Phillip, I dont know if it was a sunday, but I think that he probably described the views as breathtaking, those slopes are quite steep. Regards Greg.

Nice little sleep in then a country trip to Gardeners Falls outside Maleny for a late morning breakfast/brunch picnic beside the river in a rainforest (sort of ( )with Sya and the fudgemeister.

Then we took a leisurely drive to Baroon Pocket Dam for a look see, then a roundabout country drive to view the Glasshouse mountains from the west from Mary Cairncross Park

We then rounded the afternoon off with late lunch at a lookout (375m, highest spot around this place ) between Maleny and Monteville with clear views to the coast 25km away. Happened to bump into a friend we hadn't seen for 6 years. He and his mates were just getting ready to jump off the lookout with their parasails. Spent a lovely hour and a bit there watching them and then wandered off home for some KFC and Uni assigments

A very nice Sunday all in all.
