What a beat up. Car manufacturers have been rorting the price of spare parts for decades. When I was at uni, some students worked out a price to build a basic sedan from spare parts. It came out at around $200,000 for a basic sedan and that was 20 years ago.
So the owner here should have done what the guy further down the article did, and bought the same thing from a different supplier for a quarter of the price.
