Lightning Tonight

Took these during the last storm tonight... another one is here now and I'm missing it (but it sounds awfully wet outside!!!)

Olympus C5060WZ on tripod, remote shutter, manual focus, 15sec, 80 ASA, early ones at f/4.0, later at f/8.0. "c" in the filename means I cropped it. Saved for the web in PS CS2 - no other processing.

Stacked Lightning

Here's the above images stacked in Registax, levels adjusted, cropped and saved for the web in PS CS2.

Looks like this one is about to hit Sydney.
Lots of lightning and the BOM radar indicates heavy rain is not far away.
Knew I shouldn't have watered the lawn.

Excellent stuff Al, we had it hit at about 11:30pm but I wasn't going out in it! Actually I had to though, to carry my mount back undercover

Thanks guys. I was pleased with the results. Lightning photography can be very challenging, but all the conditions fell together for me on this occasion!

I'm just home from being out walking in the stuff tonight (doing a search and rescue for some overdue canyoners in Kanangra) and it got way too close for my liking - instantaneous light and noise! Glad to walk away from it!

BTW the search was successful! So I'm off to bed...

Al.
