$4100 ONO : APM 100 mm 45° ED-Apo Binocular

APM 100 mm 45° ED-Apo Binocular with 1.25" Eyepiece Holder.

I purchased these Jan 24th 2016 This year.

These give amazing views as users will attest from the SPSP this year. I am letting them go to make way for the 120mm ED pair I have on order.

The only issue I would raise is some plastic has rubbed of one small area (5c piece) of one of the retractable dew shields underneath. I will post an image to clarify. Its nothing really but thought I'd raise it.

Comes in a dedicated Pelican case with foam insert.

2.990,00 EUR or 4.5K AUD NEW + $450 for Custom Hardcase excluding delivery from Germany currently from Telescop Express,.

I'd love for them to go to a new loving home.

$4100 incl courier delivery in Australia. The Discmounts DM6 is obviously not included in the sale.

Specifications below

APM 100 mm 45° ED-Apo Binocular with 1.25" Eyepiece Holder

Every single Binocular which we sell will be perfectly collimated at Wellenform company nearby us. So you have the warranty for collimation up to 100 x magnification.

Mechanics
Solidly built this binocular resists misalignment. The doublet ED APO lens is mounted at no clearance.

Optics
The doublet ED APO lens shows almost no CA. It is splitting double stars and showing details on planets like a real 4" doublet ED Apo, but the light gathering of this binocular is higher due to its 2 x 100 mm aperture, and thanks to an outstanding high quality newest technology broadband multicoating.

It accepts standard 1.25" eyepieces with nebula filters screwed in, like Tele Vue Panoptic 24 mm, Tele Vue Naglers etc. The sharpness with Panoptics is pin point to the edge of the view and the contrast rock's!

Material

For easy handling the binocular has a lightweight magnesium body.

Amazing binoculars - unfortunately I'm after something a bit more entry-level.
Here's the APM website link for others: http://www.apm-telescopes.de/en/bino...ce-holder.html
Cheers, Doug

Another positive recommendation from me - I used these binoculars at SPSP and remember cruising the Milky Way with some 12mm EP's at 50X for half an hour - checking out objects in detail and never needing to raise or lower the magnification . APO refractor quality images with the binocular contrast and extra resolution and flat field . The fluid head tripod it was on that night made the experience effortless.

These binoculars are of such quality it is disorientating experience in that you are just not used to cruising the sky with such detail and yet have that field of view and comfort ..you have to check in with yourself exactly what you are seeing and how you are experiencing it ...I'd almost rate it as `disruptive' astro-technology Whoever becomes the new `care taker ' will not be disappointed .

Tempting

I'm sorely tempted. I could double mount these on my AZ-EQ5 mount and get a lovely combination!

Does the mounting bracket (everything from the dovetail on) come with it, or just the binos?

If just the binos, do you know where and for how much I could purchase a similar bracket?

Also, I'm a little skint till next payday, I could pay a deposit now and the balance in two weeks if we were going to do it...
