processing transit pics

I took a couple of videos of the mercury transit, ive got stacks of frames of it, the individual frames hardly show mercury at all tho, normally id use ppmcentre to allign all the pics, then combine them with registax, however, ppmcentre alligns on the sun, not mercury (as i expected it would, but i tried it anyway) is there anyway to get my pics lined up?

I had a hell of a time convincing Registax to process my pics of the transit.
Finally succeeded by making my selection box as small as possible, and taking care no other dark colour is in the box apart from Mercury.
Out of 7 Avi's, only one came out any good.

ppmcentre won't work on your solar transit pics. Paul (1ponders) asked a similar question in the tips&techniques forum.
