I bought this eyepiece used a few months ago. Tried it out soon afterwards and all seemed fine. Then I didn't use it for a while.
Recently I used it to look at Sirius in my SCT and is displayed some flare that is similar to the diffraction spikes you'd get in a Newtonian. It does the same thing in a refractor. It only appears on bright objects.
The previous owner says it was fine when he had it. There doesn't seem to be any debris inside the housing so I'm confused as to what's causing it. I planned to use it specifically for planetary observing but the flare makes it less than ideal for that.
I paid $170 for it a few months ago. Asking $95 posted.
