Too many telescopes, so one had to go: my Celestron NexStar 5SE GoTo SCT.
This is a garage sale find, which explains its rather "weathered" appearance. The tripod in particular has seen better days, and is missing a few parts, but it works well using a rope spreader, hose claps for leg adjustment, etc.
The OTA exterior is a bit faded, but it is in very good condition optically, and is well collimated. The telescope was missing its dust cover when I bought it, so I am including a 3D-printed replacement (see photos).
The powered mount works well, and has been updated to the latest Celestron firmware version, which includes "high precision" target acquisition. The mount has a built-in wedge adaptor, so can be used in both Alt-Az or Polar mode. The mount will run off 8 x AAA batteries (it will work well with 1.2 volt NiMH batteries - not included), but I am including a 12 volt 6.5 amp-hour SLA battery (with charger) which will give several hours of continuous use..
The telescope has a Celestron diagonal, red dot finder, and I will also include a 40 mm eyepiece, and an 8 mm - 20 mm zoom eyepiece, to get you started. There is also a full-aperture solar filter, and my very own designed 3D-printed solar finder.
Looking for $450 for the lot. Pick-up only from Ashgrove (or South Brisbane in business hours) - I'm not really able to pack this for shipping to other destinations.
