Mirror scratch

Hi...I have just unpacked the 16" mirror of my new Skywatcher. There is a slight scratch mark on the outer 20mm of the mirror. the mark itself is about 5mm. there are also a few tiny white dots sprinkled across the mirror, maybe 5 in total. Does this constitute a return of the mirror to the retailer?

Don't touch anything contact the supplier first, take pics if you can to prove that it was "as supplied". If you try and clean it before you contact the supplier, they may try and get out of their waranty obligations. Ask the supplier first if it's ok to clean the mirror.

My experience with scope dealers is that they will always assume your an idiot and that somehow it's your own native stupidity that created the issue. Get the scope back to them ASAP even if you need to pay freight, this is the only way to get them moving and begin forming a workable plan that will have you looking skyward again.
