Dark sky camp out. Perth and WA

This is a invitation to West Australian observers and Iceinspace members to share a night observing at a special Dark Sky venue not far from Perth on Saturday the 24th of January 2015.

The dark sky venue is a very modest drive from Perth and has ample room for camping and spots to set up a telescope. Camping is free and the grounds have basic amentites so no worrying about hiding behind bushes for anyone.

Everyone is welcome including families and the kids usually have a ball playing outside.

There is also a walk trail nearby for those who like a bit of an adventure in the morning.

Please if you are interested then Privately Message me for the details of the time and place of our rendezvous point where we meet.

Would love to see you all there.

If anybody needs or wants a lift then please don't be shy and let me know as there may be a good possibility that there will be somebody willing to help.

Hi Pat,

Thanks for your reply. It would be great if you can come along and everyone would enjoy having you there but no worries either way. I think most of us can understand that life can get in the way some times.

I'll be there, +1 friend, and I will be bringing my brand new (in fact currently incomplete, but will be done by Saturday) scope with a pretty unique mount design.

Important - date change to Sunday.

Hello everyone

Please be advised that the date for the camp out will be changed to Sunday night due to expected cloud tonight.

I will pm everyone that will be coming. Sorry for the change but no point going tonight if the viewing is a non event. Tomorrow looks like it will be a cracker with transparency and seeing both very high.

Please pm me if you have any concerns or problems.

Smile

Thanks to everyone that came and made the night a special one to remember. I really enjoyed the night and I hope you all did too. The stars came out but the real stars were you guys and gals that made the event so fun. Thanks again and I hope to see you all again in the near future.

Thank you also to IIS for being the medium to bring us all together. I have met some wonderful people on this forum and last night was no exception.
