Thats easy..the most expensive one I could find . I saw a huge 160 meg cam the size of a brief case on the net if over kill is the game that would be it.
There is a canon 16 meg for about $11,000 if they have it in a nikon (ccd sensor)that sounds juicey .

If Money was not a concern right now I would get the QHY8, at about 2000$ its going to put SBIG out of business. Really why pay 8000$ USD and more for the same camera?
Alex I am sure you could get the same 16meg Chip put into a QHY made camera for less. There is a 14mp CMOS version QHY are investigating.
Fahim I must say I agree his products are relatively cheap if you want a dedicated astro cam I have followed his work for a long time and certainly if I go to a dedicated cam I would buy from him . I met him some time ago in another forum and suggested he add cooling to what he was doing at the time I dont know if I was trying to place an idea he already had but it certainly is now a reality. He has come a long way in a relatively short time. I think a few members now own one and they would be better to offer comment however.

Shawn there are two chip models out there but very expensive and I guess that says something. It would be great not to have to have a guide scope.

A few years ago I bought a "flying spot CCD" camera for our art department. It was a JVC camera that somehow vibrated the CCD array, and timed exposures were fired at either end of the oscillation, which effectively doubled the physical resolution of the array. Back then (1998 or so) it was up around the $64k mark (if I remember at all correctly). Damn finest camera there was for years. Does anyone remember them?

I agree the cooled QHY8 camera sounds like good value for DSLR imaging but you honestly cant compare this camera to a dedicated monochrome Sbig or any other dedicated CCD camera, they have completely different chips and simply can not be be compared with each other....there about as close as comparing a Toucam to a DSLR.
On this topic I would buy a huge RC on a paramount...and a back illuminated ccd camera...should get some change out of $100,000.....I hope
