Macbook Air Software?

Hi I've been scouring the forums and can't find what I'm looking for. What I'm after is software for mac that's the equivalent of Sky tools 3. I don't want to duel boot etc, just install and go...

For those unfamiliar with Sky tools 3 it show what you'll see through your scope, as well as night plans etc, and which eye piece to use for best results..

Not sure what you want here.

SkySafari for Mac is a planetarium program - shows you the sky (gloriously) and can do stuff like scope control. You can also put up a reticle on screen to show you the apparent field of view.

Astroplanner for Mac is an awesome planning tool. Gives you Finder charts for a given object; shows you the field of view of your eyepieces, lets you fiddle with focal reducers and scope sizes to see what will work for you. Yu can get UCAC4 catalogues for AP which is more stars than you or I will ever need; you can download Palomar Obs Sky Survey images of a given area to see even more stars and odd things.

I have both, and use both All The Time. Really indispensable in my opinion.

With Skytools, I can punch in my scope details and which lenses I have, as well as longitude and lat, and it'll show me what what's available on the night, as well as what to expect through the scope. hope that explains it a touch better?

Have a look at GoSkyWatch app the full version is less than $5 for Mac, I love it.

TheSkyX from Software Bisque runs on Mac. Not cheap thought...

Starry Night Pro in fact all of the Starry Night versions runs on Mac as well.
Starry Night Pro has starfield simulation based on stitched photographs, twilight/daylight simulation and you can enter details of cameras, telescopes, eyepieces and camera lenses to get field of view maps. Starry Night Pro is relatively expensive at full price but goes on special from time to time. I got my copy for $99.

Heck - you can even run multiple Windows OS's at the same time
Then you can run SkyTools and anything else

Dual booting is simply archaic !

Agree or install VM Fusion. Price is pretty low and support is good.

What version of office are you running?
Are you trying to install it via a cd? A macbook air does not have a cd player so you need to attach a cd player.
If via a usb it's pretty simple, just follow the prompts.
