Sky Safari Plus - connection failure ??

I am trying to work out why my Sky Safari Plus Android app keeps dropping the connection to the telescope wifi DSC system (Astro Devices Nexus) every two minutes when the scope is connected in the app. When I push the reconnect button everything is fine for another two minutes then it fails again. The whole system works great until the drop out. There are no setting that I can locate that might cause this in Sky Safari or the Nexus. Serge (Astro Devices) is looking at it. I've had Wifi Analyser running and watching the signal and there is never a drop in strength nor any other signal that comes over the top of it. I put Sky Safari on a completely different tablet and the same thing happen with it - so there is no tablet hardware issues that can be identified.
A Google search fails to find anything related.

ANy ideas out there?

PS I have emailed Sky Safari (Southern) for support and Serge is trying to help. Surely there is someone else running this configuration.

G'day Glen. I run StarSeek on my iPad. The layout might be slightly different on android, so you may need to look around in the menus.

Go to Settings, Appearance, and select Prevent Auto Lock to On.

This solved the same problem for me, except during those really cold winter nights where it still dropped out a couple of times during the night.

Hi, I had this problem at first too. I was using a 9v battery power at first. You know the one that goes in the back of the Wifi unit. I switched to a 12v 20ah battery and use the power cable that connects at the front and the problem went away. Simple for me.
Also, certain devices have more success than others. For instance my Nexus 4 phone will rarely connect at all. Yet my nexus 7 tablet connects almost instantaneously.
