Saturn, The Moon, Venus & Spica - 9/13

This beautiful alignment captured this evening about halfway through nautical twilight.

The planetary bodies seem to have bloated due to thin, high cloud. I was hoping to capture a crescent Moon (about 17% illuminated) but I couldn't rid the bloat.

Larger version available here.

Canon EOS-5D Mark III, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
2.5s f/4.0 @ 17.0mm iso1600

Thanks for looking.

Thanks Laurie, Rod and Bob!

Bob, the dynamic range in the final image is due to me compositing a double-processed RAW.

Cheers.
