Pathetic journalism...

This story was shown by the SMH today...

http://www.smh.com.au/travel/travel-...723-2qfje.html

The facts as far as I can tell are: after a successful landing, the nose gear collapsed, all passengers and crew left the aircraft without significant injury via the slides. (leave via the slide-rafts and some one will probably break a fingernail).

Bugger.

Yet, in the same piece we are told it was a *crash landing* and 8 were injured, plus two died in a (not stated but, totally unrelated ) aviation incident on the other side of the USA about 2 weeks earlier

This is tacky BS IMHO. The media *really* need to be given a reality check.

Since when has the media ever got ANYTHING to do with aviation correct???

One of the better ones I remember, though only a word faux-pas was a reporter claiming the aircraft did a cannon-roll. I assume she meant BARREL roll...I suppose a cannon has a barrel after all...

Reminds me of that old saying Peter.

"Never let the facts get in the way of a good story"

And the woman running away from the emergency slide is clearly carrying her hand luggage.

It's not new Peter,
Our female PM purchased some new spectacles and the story ran for 7 days, the Opposition Leader suggested that every Australian womens place was on the end of an iron and it got 5 minutes.
