Hi gang,
Just thought l'd mention a range of eyepieces l use, these are the LV Lanthanum series made by Vixen.
Eye relief is 20mm for all sizes and priced in the $180 range, l've used these for a couple of years and find they worked well in a wide range of scopes with great results.
The higher mag eyepieces give excellent results in the Orion ED 80, just thought it might be worth considering for those of you on the hunt for a new eyepiece.
For an intermediately priced eyepiece they're worth a look.
l've found them good for solar system images although l've really only viewed them through large aperture f/8-f/10 scopes but as l mentioned they do work well with the f7.5 80mm, particularly the 5mm.
I have the 4mm Vixen LV. Bought it from Adorama about 12 mths ago. Worked well with my Meade 6" f/8 achromat. I've just sold that scope and I'm waiting on a LX90. I think the LV4mm might be a bit of overkill for it, at 500X. But could be handy for close doubles and planets on those "perfect nights".
Gotta love the 20mm eye relief on the LV's, even though the FOV is only about 45 deg. But then, really I can't see the point of super wide fields at high mags.
