Over the last few months I've been honing my skills on M42, since I wont get out for another month, and given that it is retreating into early evening sky I will have to find a new target.
This image comprises a manual combination (in photoshop) of
50 x 40sec
60 x 20sec
20 x 6sec
All shot at ISO1600 with my 60D (no filters this time, sought out dark skies instead), through SkyWatcher 100ED, x0.85 reducer on CG5 mount.
Lovely, it sure can pay to keep working a target and improving all the time.
I reckon you could eke out a bit more of the faint detail around the edges, it looks like it goes to black a little soon.
Really nice detail in the centre.
