Comet 2012 K5 LINEAR

Here is my first shot at a small comet- taken on 7th Jan. I used CalSky to get the coordinates, but still couldn't see it, so I took a 30 sec exposure (D7000 ISO 400) through the 5" refractor.

Like everyone says - it's moving mighty fast!

Nice capture Chris. It is satisfying to catch this comet.

It should be in reach of a 5" scope now.

I was able to visually observe it with binoculars and my 12" Dob last night under dark skies with good seeing. It was extremely faint in the 7 x 50 binos, but it helped me to locate it with the telescope.

I am guessing that it is approx mag 11 at the moment.
