January 17th, 8.15am.

The Sun is a strangle yellow today and I am wondering if this is ash from the Volcanic eruption near Tonga.

There were only 5 Regions visible today, but I did count 27 individual spots.

The best viewing is in the North Western Quarter with Regions 2929 & 30 each featuring a large number of spots. Near the Western Limb Region 2931 is just the one, fading spot.

In the south, newly-named Region 2933 is an attractive line of many small and tiny spots; yesterday, it was just one unnamed spot.

Region 2927 still only displays the one medium sized spot. This Region has been visible for 9 days now and has shown almost no change.
