You can also use the Canon supplied software “EOS Utility” to control the 40D from a computer. You get the “Remote Live View” and Interval Shooting although the maximum exposure is 30 secs only. If you want longer on Bulb Mode, you need to manually fire these off.
With EOS Utility all you need is the Canon supplied USB cable and preferably, a mains adapter as I found the battery runs down quite quickly!
