Some of us also prefer using a 2 inch diagonal because it offers secure holding of binoviewers. Depending on your scopes focal ratio, using two inch eyepieces may require coma correction to achieve focused stars at the edge of their field of view. Fortunately, i have a relatively inexpensive 2 inch 30mm 80 degree eyepiece that shows good correction at the field edge, because I am using it in a f/12 mak.
